The name Crimson and White, by which all Pottsville High School sports teams have been known for many years, was adopted in 1893. The late Attorney G. Frank Muehlhof, was president of the class that selected the colors.

Before those colors were adopted as the official colors of Pottsville High School, each graduating class adopted its own colors.
